If you’re like me, you’re always looking for something fun and delicious to make, but when it’s this hot outside, it can be hard to justify turning on the oven. That’s when I grab the blender and ice cream and start making milkshakes!
These Chocolate Chocolate Chip Milkshakes are rich, creamy, and icy cold, which makes them the best thing to help you cool down on a hot day. Plus, they bring together chocolate ice cream, chocolate syrup, and chocolate chips so they’re the perfect treat if you’re a chocolate lover.
You’ll first start off by making the chocolate syrup. This delicious syrup is what gets drizzled into each glass and slowly melts away as you sip your milkshake for an even more chocolate-y flavor. Start by whisking together cocoa powder, sugar, and salt in a small sauce pan. Next, add the milk to the pan and continue to whisk constantly until it begins to boil.
Reduce the heat slightly and stir a little longer before removing it from the heat, stirring in the vanilla extract, and chilling it for at least 30 minutes. Once your chocolate syrup has thickened, use a spoon to carefully drizzle it into each glass and place each glass in the freezer for 5-10 minutes. The leftover chocolate syrup can be used on all kinds of other delicious desserts!
Next, puree the chocolate ice cream, milk, and chocolate chips in a blender until thick and creamy. Set this aside while you make your whipped cream.
Once your whipped cream is ready to go, pour the milkshake into each glass, top it off with a dollop of whipped cream and leftover chocolate and dive in!
As you sip and stir your milkshake, the chocolate syrup will melt away making it taste even richer. I say, bring on the chocolate!
