Valentine’s Day is coming up, and I’ve got the perfect cocktail for you, the Love Potion #9. It combines cran-raspberry juice, vodka, lemon-lime soda, and simple syrup for a deliciously sweet yet slightly tart drink. The cran-raspberry juice adds lots of flavor and gives the drink its beautiful red color. Adding a bit of dry ice to each glass helps it look like a real life love potion ready to claim its first victim.

Ingredients

  • 4 oz cran-raspberry juice
  • 1.5–2 oz vodka
  • 1 oz lemon lime soda like 7-Up or Sprite
  • 1 oz simple syrup
  • Raspberries for garnish

Instructions

  1. Add ice to a cocktail shaker followed by cran-raspberry juice, vodka, soda, and simple syrup.
  2. Shake well and strain into glass.
  3. Garnish with three raspberries on a cocktail pick or toothpick.
  4. Using tongs, carefully drop a small piece of dry ice into the drink.
  5. Let dry ice dissolve for five minutes before drinking.
  6. Enjoy!

Notes

If you’re making a larger portion, you can use the below ratio.

4 parts cran-raspberry juice + 1.5-2 parts vodka + 1 part lemon-lime soda + 1 part simple syrup
