Bloody Halloween Milkshakes

I've made lots of Halloween desserts before, but never something as eerie as these Bloody Halloween Milkshakes. They're gory and gruesome looking, but once you have a sip, you taste their delicious vanilla flavor.

Red food coloring is painted on the inside of each glass so that it slowly drips down and blends with the milkshake, giving them the perfect look for Halloween.

These milkshakes are so delicious and they only take a few simple ingredients: vanilla ice cream, milk, and red food coloring, plus some heavy whipping cream and sugar for the whipped cream!

Now let's get started on these spooky desserts! First, we'll make the whipped cream. Combine the heavy whipping cream and sugar in a bowl with a stand mixer or with a handheld mixer until somewhat stiff peaks have formed. Pop it in the fridge until you're ready to use it.

Next, grab a food safe paint brush and carefully paint the inside of each glass with red food coloring. I recommend using a gel food coloring for best results.

Make sure to paint each stroke a different length so it is more varied looking. Some sections might look thicker than others, but that's okay. This is what will slowly blend with the milkshake to give it that drip-like look. Place each glass in the freezer to chill while you prep the milkshakes.

Now blend together the vanilla ice cream and milk in a blender for several seconds until combined. Carefully pour into each glass and top with a spoonful of whipped cream.

Make sure to wait to fill the milkshakes until right before you want to serve them. Once you fill them, the red food coloring will slowly start to blend in with the milkshake, making it look extra gory and bloody.
