Chocolate Chocolate Chip Milkshakes

If you're like me, you're always looking for something fun and delicious to make, but when it's this hot outside, it can be hard to justify turning on the oven. That's when I grab the blender and ice cream and start making milkshakes!

These Chocolate Chocolate Chip Milkshakes are rich, creamy, and icy cold, which makes them the best thing to help you cool down on a hot day. Plus, they bring together chocolate ice cream, chocolate syrup, and chocolate chips so they're the perfect treat if you're a chocolate lover.

There are three elements to these delicious milkshakes: the rich chocolate sauce that's drizzled on the inside of the glass, the fluffy whipped cream that's added on top, and the chocolate milkshake itself. You'll start off by making the chocolate sauce so that it has time to firm up in the fridge.

Whisk together the cocoa powder, sugar, and salt in a small saucepan. Add the milk and stir the mixture constantly until it begins to boil. Reduce the heat slightly so the mixture continues to simmer for about 30 seconds.

Remove the chocolate syrup from the heat, stir in the vanilla, transfer to a heat safe container, and chill for at least 30 minutes. Once the chocolate syrup has thickened, use a spoon to drizzle it on the inside of both glasses. Place the glasses in the freezer for 5-10 minutes.

Next you'll work on the whipped cream. Combine heavy cream and sugar in a medium sized bowl. Mix on medium-high with a handheld or stand mixer until somewhat stiff peaks have formed. Cover and refrigerate until ready to use, slightly whisking before using if need be.

Puree ice cream, milk, and chocolate chips in a blender for 10 seconds until thick and creamy. Pour milkshake into each glass and top them with a spoonful of whipped cream and the leftover chocolate chips or chopped chocolate. Enjoy!
