Alice in Wonderland premiered on July 26, 1951 and follows the adventures of a young girl named Alice as she makes her way through the exciting world of Wonderland.

Did you know that this was not the first time that Walt had worked on this story? He created the Alice Comedies in the 1920’s, which featured a live-action Alice that was incorporated into a cartoon world. He even considered modeling Alice in Wonderland after this same sort of style, but ultimately decided not to.
I took these pictures at The Walt Disney Family Museum, and they show a glimpse of what the Alice Comedies were like.
For this version of #marisabakesdisney, I wanted to focus on one of my favorite parts of the movie. I have always loved when Alice comes across the two different bowls of beautiful cookies, eats one, and immediately changes in size, so I decided to replicate both sets of cookies from the movie.

“If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. Nothing would be what it is because everything would be what it isn’t. And contrary-wise; what it is it wouldn’t be, and what it wouldn’t be, it would. You see?” – Alice in Wonderland
